For the third year in a row I photographed the annual award dinner for the US Nuclear Infrastructure Council in Washington D.C. These events are usually interesting because 1) They are in some nice hotel in downtown D.C., and 2) There’s usually some politician of importance there. This year did not disappoint! The event took place at the Hotel Monaco on F St., and the council was honoring Senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina.
The picture above? That’s a picture of me with the Senator. Easily the most powerful person I’ve ever taken a picture with.
Oh but the fun doesn’t stop there! This event is usually a reception followed by a dinner with the awards given out during the meal. The Senator was on a tight schedule though so after the first course he accepted his award and left. “But what did they do with his vacant seat and unclaimed entree?” you probably aren’t asking? Well no worries, I proceed to sit in his spot and eat what would’ve been his meal!

Waste not right? It was delicious, and yes, it was easily the most important meal I’ve ever had!
