Consider this your teaser to the wedding of Kellie and Jeremy!
Back in 2005-2006, while I was still at freshmen at Virginia Tech (I’m starting to feel old…), I took a week long trip to visit my good friend Tracy. This was my first, and for the next 9 years only, trip to Penn State. Why am I telling you this? Because from that week long trip 9 years ago I never forgot the greatness that was the ice cream I got at the Berkey Creamery!
For you poor souls who have never been to the Creamery, it is, simply put, the best ice cream ever. This is where Ben and Jerry’s came from. This is ice cream that is made with the milk from the cows at Penn State’s agriculture department. This is the ice cream that the employee’s refuse to mix flavors with. That’s right, they will not give you two scoops of different flavors on the same cone or cup! It is that good, and for 9 years I wondered when I would ever get a chance to go back.
Well this past August was when I got to go back! Kellie and Jeremy got married up in Pennsylvania not far from the Penn State campus. After the ceremony and reception, a few of us decided to swing by the Creamery. This small group also happened to include Kellie and Jeremy, still in wedding attire! I personally can’t think of a better way to cap off their wedding day, and the couple seemed pretty pleased. Kellie even managed to get an employee to consider mixing flavors for her, since she was in her wedding dress on her wedding day (and Kellie milked that fact for all it was worth…no pun intended).
Alas they did not cave to their no mixing flavors rule, even for the bride, but after we sat down and started eating none of us were complaining! For all of you who have been to the Creamery, take a look at the pictures and long to taste that ice cream again. For those of you who have never been, well hopefully these pictures give you an idea of what you’re missing!
