Who loves surprises?
Taylor, a friend of mine of many years now, approached me a few months back about capturing his proposal to Ashley. I’ve had the privilege of doing this once before for a longtime friend of mine and I was thrilled and honored to be able to do it again! I agreed and we went about hatching a plan.
The location ended up being Early Mountain Vineyard in Charlottesville. In case you start to get some deja vu from these images, yes this is the same location I photographed a wedding at a few months prior. It is an absolutely gorgeous (and remote) location, plus Taylor and Ashley do love wine, so it was perfect.
The scenario was pretty straight forward. Ashley didn’t know where Taylor was taking her, just that she had to dress nice. When they arrived I would already be there waiting and Taylor would pitch it as a surprise photoshoot of the two of them as a gift. We would then do a couple of different poses (mostly just trying to find the best lighting for the actual proposal and to throw her off the scent) and then he would propose. The plan was foolproof!
The execution? Well, take a look for yourself (and some bonus images I did of the two of them after the actual proposal)! Enjoy!
Congrats you two! Can’t wait for the wedding!
