Oh where to start with the wedding of Lindsey and Frank…
Let’s start with a bit of a refresher. Lindsey and Frank hired me seemingly forever ago (back in early 2016) and we did an absolutely wonderful engagement session back in the fall (you can find a couple of their pictures in the Couples and Portraits gallery). I got great vibes from the couple back when we first met, and the engagement session went so well that I was ready and excited to photograph their wedding!
Problem was I had to wait half a year…
The wait was worth it though! They got married at Whitehall Manor in Bluemont, VA, a venue I’ve photographed at before. I love Whitehall. The staff and vendors there are top notch and the setting is simply gorgeous! The weather was perfect so the ceremony took place outside, and before the ceremony Lindsey and Frank opted to see each other. As you’ll see below we placed them on either side of a large tree, but before turning around for the big reveal each was given a note written by the other to read. It was one of the more touching first look moments I’ve had the pleasure of capturing.
Before I move on can I just comment on how cool and calm this couple was? I feel like I say that about a lot of my clients, and maybe I’m just lucky that way, but Lindsey and Frank were right up there in terms of chill bride and grooms. They were wonderful and simply joyful the whole day!
After some portraits around the venue and some shenanigans with my drone (check out the teaser), it was time for the ceremony. As far as I could tell there was very little crying and lots of laughter! After the ceremony there was a cocktail hour filled with live music from one of Lindsey and Frank’s favorite bands (who also performed at the ceremony). The reception was filled with some delicious food, a fantastic dessert table (which lindsey contributed her baking talents too), and again more laughter during one of the better best man toasts I’ve heard courtesy of Frank’s twin brother.
Oh and there was dancing. How there was dancing! I could have probably taken 300+ pictures of dancing at this wedding and published them in their own post and gallery. Every time I thought I had enough, someone else (often times Frank himself) would do something that begged to be photographed!
So where to start with the wedding of Lindsey and Frank? I gave you words, but I should have started with the pictures. Enjoy them, soak them up, and take in the absolute joy this wedding was! Have it folks!
Lindsey and Frank, thank you so much for allowing me to be apart of your big day! It was my joy and my honor and I wish you both the best moving forward! Here’s to many happy years!
