I have done all over the place for weddings this year. My first wedding of 2016 was a “local” wedding, my next wedding was on the Eastern Shore in Maryland, and this wedding took me farther north to New Jersey!
This wedding was a personal one for me. Kevin and Hannah came into my life a few years back when they started coming to my church. Hannah was originally from New Jersey and Kevin was from the Northern Virginia area. After they both went to George Mason for school, they met, fell in love, and had been together for a few years before I met them. They quickly became some of my favorite people after crossing paths with them! They are fun and friendly and simply great people. When they approached me about photographing their wedding I was honored and delighted!
The wedding as I mentioned above was in New Jersey, but the more picturesque countryside of the state (not the parts that everyone thinks of when you mention New Jersey). The venue was a farm with various barns and structures and some beautiful rolling fields and trees. The original plan was for the wedding to be outside by this massive tree (which we did end up getting photos by), but the weather did not cooperate and was threatening (and eventually brought) rain. But the show must go on so the wedding was moved under cover and was still wonderful!
The wedding had a very country/homey feel to it. The party favors were mason jars which also served as your glasses for the evening. The reception located was littered with homemade signs and decorations, and the venue itself with the wooden structures tied everything together.
It also helps when the couple is as down to earth and happy as can be as well! Hannah and Kevin were some of the easiest people to photograph as they were simply beaming and glowing through the whole day! Smiles and laughter were everywhere, and you could practically see the love in the air! I know this all sounds incredibly cheesy but it was seriously one of the best wedding environments I’ve been around and I think the pictures will show that!
Great couple, great wedding, and a great weekend! Now on to the pictures!
Not only do I get to thank you for allowing me to photograph your big day Hannah and Kevin, but I also look forward to seeing you guys go forward in your new life! Here’s to many happy years!
