In case you missed it, you can see Part 1 of Elizabeth and Prabhav’s wedding here!
If you thought this couple might be tired after just having a Hindu wedding two days earlier, you would be very wrong! On a Saturday back in May Elizabeth and Prabhav had part 2 of their wedding, a traditional Catholic ceremony just outside of Washington D.C. It’s easy to compare a Hindu ceremony to a Catholic ceremony and come to the conclusion that one is more colorful and lively than the other, but that’s not a fair comparison. Both ceremony’s are ripe with ritual and tradition, and they are both unique and beautiful in their own ways. Having the opportunity to not only see both ceremonies just days apart, but to see them with the same couple, was a really cool experience for me and one I’m grateful to have had.
As for Elizabeth and Prabhav, maybe it was the fact that they already had one wedding ceremony down, but man were they relaxed! Through the ceremony and right to the reception they were as happy and laid back as could be, and I think that shows through in these pictures. The reception took place at the Dacor Bacon House, a lovely venue I’ve had the opportunity to photograph at before in downtown D.C. Good food and lots of laughs dominated the reception!
And then there was the dancing. Oh man did I ever have fun capturing the dancing! There was some serious energy at this reception! So much energy, in fact, that I may or may not have joined in on the dancing myself (I will neither confirm nor deny this statement).
All in all though it was a great day, and a perfect second ceremony for this couple! Now on to the images!
Thank you Elizabeth and Prabhav for letting me be apart of both your big days! Here’s to many happy years!
